M·A·C Guest Post : Introducing…Playland ( an original article from blogs.nordstrom.com )
John Stapleton, M·A·C Cosmetics Senior Artist, has the scoop on how to work runway colors into your everyday beauty routine using MAC Playland .
Nothing looks better against bronzed, summery skin than a bright pop of color on lips, cheeks and eyes. But that doesn’t mean you have to wear them all together! Just in time for the season, MAC Playland offers an array of colors that can be worn off the runway for every day.
Dare to wear yellow on the eye for an extra punch of color. First, start with a M·A·C ‘Pro Longwear’ Paint Pot to ensure hours of wear for eyelids. I also suggest trying Paint Pot in Soft Ochre for a shade that’s kind to all skin tones and lends the perfect backdrop to the yellow pigment. Carve out the crease with a warm eyeshadow like Shadow in Texture (light to medium tones) and Handwritten (deeper skin tones). When working with pigment, I suggest using a firm brush to apply color. Opt for the 252 Large Shader Brushthen add ‘Playland’ Pigment in Ever So Yellow and sweep away any excess gently with the 242 Shader Brush. Coat the lashes with M·A·C’s newly launched Studio Sculpt Lash to play up the drama.

Turn the pin-up look upside down and swap out your red lip for orange! For a perfect orange lip and guaranteed lasting results: First apply Prep and Prime Lip. Then sketch along the perimeter of the lip line with a bright orange pencil for light to medium skin tones, using ‘Pro Longwear’ Lip Pencil in What a Blast!

For deeper skin tones, pump up the color by adding a little bit of red, like Lip Pencil in Redd. Line the perimeter and blend into the lips with a lip brush. Apply Morange Lipstick and top it off with a sheer blast of ‘Playland’ Tinted Lipglass in Live It Up.
